Meet Mark Becker

My love of lawn care began at an early age. When I was 8 I followed my dad around the yard saying, “Let me mow, let me do it” as he was cutting the grass. He always joked and said that you won’t be saying that when you are old enough and have to cut the grass. Eventually he relinquished the mower to me and let me cut the grass but he always made sure I did the extra things such as the edging.
I was born and raised in Florissant and attended McCluer North High School (Class of ’96). I went on to attend Maryville University in Chesterfield and graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Throughout my years of high school and college I did lawn care to help pay the few bills that I had back then. Somewhere along the way I realized that I enjoyed working outdoors and being active and decided to continue with my Lawn care business.
I believe life should be a balance between work, play and leisure. One of the things I enjoy doing outside of work is dancing. It is something that my mom got me into when I was in high school which we both have continued until this day. I met my wife Kyla, also a St. Louis native, out on the dance floor. We prefer country music so most of our dancing revolves around two-stepping and line dances but we also enjoy swing dancing.
Our other activities include boating, bbqs and hiking. As you will see in some of the photos we like to be active – In 2007 Kyla and I hiked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim (21 miles over the course of 3 days). In 2010 we hiked Mt. Elbert in Colorado, which is one of the many “14ers”. We also like to spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks and most summers we take a three day weekend and usually rent a boat. We are always up for BBQ – whether it is in our own back yard or at our St. Louis favorite Pappy’s Smokehouse (
Also pictured in the photos is Brad, you will see us working together. He started in the lawn care industry when he was 13 working his summers for a company cutting grass.
